On Wednesday March 13th, the Arizona House of Representatives approved HB 2559, a bill that establishes a regulatory framework for peer-to-peer car sharing in the State of Arizona.  The legislation was approved 44-16, despite tremendous opposition from the opponents, led by Enterprise Rent-A-Car. HB 2559 was sponsored by Representative Travis Grantham, and he made an energetic and convincing closing argument on the House floor which convinced other lawmakers to join in support.

The legislation received a big boost from Turo hosts Dakota Bick and Edward Lannin who came to the capitol to testify in support of the bill on February 21st.  One more reason to love the Turo community!

The bill will now go to the Senate for consideration, and Turo continues to fight for the legislation’s ultimate enactment.
