Turo celebrates equality California 20th anniversary gala

Turo was very excited to sponsor Equality California's (EQCA) 2019 20th-anniversary gala this year in Los Angeles, CA.

We applaud the awardees of the evening, honored for their contributions to advocate and protect LGBTQ rights.

Political commentator Ana Navarro received the Ally Leadership Award for her aggressive work advocating for LGBTQ equality and immigration reform. Former EQCA president Andreas Meyer was honored with the Equality Leadership award for his help in passing EQCA priority legislation. Amy Quatarolo and her law firm Latham & Wilkins, LLP took home both the Community Leadership award for their pro-bono work progressing the LGBTQ civil rights movement in recent years. Another big winner of the evening was Jill Solloway, showrunner of hit show Transparent, who received the prestigious  Equality Visibility Award.

Adding to the festivities and celebratory tone of the evening was famous transgender pop star Kim Petras - who wowed the crowd with an electrifying performance.

Here at Turo we aim to build diverse and inclusive communities both among our employees and our customers. Turo commends the work of EQCA and is proud to be a sponsor of these events.
