Calling all Louisianans: ask Governor John Bel Edwards to sign HB 532!
At a time when there is little good news to be found, we have a shining light for the Turo community in Louisiana in the form of a regulatory framework bill that passed the legislature near-unanimously. Now, the bill awaits the Governor’s signature.
The first order of business is to praise Representative Edmond Jordan for sponsoring HB 532 and shepherding it through to the finish line. Representative Jordan is a true champion who understands the difference between traditional rental car companies and Turo hosts, and has helped author a framework that fits our new industry of peer-to-peer car sharing and creates a level playing field for Turo hosts and guests in LA.
Now it’s our turn to take action. In order for HB 532 to become law, we must speak up and let Governor John Bel Edwards know that Representative Jordan and the Louisiana legislature had it right. Your experience and your story is what makes the Turo community unique. Lending your voice to this fight will ensure the Louisiana Governor knows exactly who is impacted by this important legislation. Let’s encourage him to sign the bill!
