Women advocates count in Washington, DC

In early October, Michelle Peacock, Turo’s VP of Government Relations, and I attended the Professional Women in Advocacy conference in Washington DC., hosted in partnership with Women in Government Relations. Aptly themed “Women Count!” the conference panels and breakout sessions looked ahead to this year’s midterm elections, enabling discussion around what happens when more women participate in politics and government as voters and leaders.

We had a wonderful time connecting with other women doing similar and inspiring work in both private and public sectors. A special thanks to the organizers for including a networking lunch, where I met other grassroots organizers working across the nation to discuss best practices for campaigns and fly-ins.

Every piece of information we glean from these types of events goes right back into better serving our Turo community. Michelle and I are looking forward to implementing our new knowledge into our next year’s goals and will be gladly be back to support PWIA in 2019.
