WAIKĪKĪ, HI- In early October, Turo partnered with the ʻŌiwi Leadership Accelerator (ʻŌLA) to sponsor a powerful netweaving event designed to elevate local leaders, celebrate culture and community, and strengthen cross-industry relationships rooted in uplifting Hawaiʻi.
Held at The Hideout at the Laylow in Waikīkī, the gathering brought together a vibrant mix of over 25 emerging and established leaders from across sectors, including a few of Turo’s very own Hawaiʻi-based hosts, to share stories, strengthen relationships, and envision new ways to uplift Hawaiʻi through leadership grounded in aloha ʻāina (a deep connection to place & space) and kuleana (responsibility).
The gathering highlighted the importance of authentic relationship building, what founder Kuʻulani Keohokalole calls netweaving, a practice rooted in service and reciprocity. Rather than focusing on transactional networking, participants connected through shared purpose and collective growth. Through its sponsorship, Turo helped create space for meaningful dialogue among Native Hawaiian and local leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators, many of whom are actively shaping Hawaiʻi’s future.
“Turo’s sponsorship at this gathering represents the kind of alignment we need to see more of where business and community come together through shared values and vision”, said Kuʻulani Keohokalole, Founder of People Strategies Hawaiʻi and the ʻŌiwi Leadership Accelerator. “When we center connection and kuleana in how we build relationships, we create systems of support that ripple across Hawaiʻi. Weʻre grateful to Turo for showing up in such an intentional way.”
“Our partnership with ʻŌLA represents more than an event – itʻs a shared commitment to empowering local leadership,” said Davin Aoyagi, Senior Government Relations Manager for Turo. “At Turo, we believe that mobility should empower people and strengthen community. Supporting spaces like this allows us to invest in the relationships and leadership that move Hawaiʻi forward.”
The Turo Hawaiʻi team extends a heartfelt mahalo to ʻŌLA for their leadership, and to every attendee who continues to build and embody the spirit of aloha through their work.
