Right now, Turo is raising awareness about an unfair double tax imposed by the Government of British Columbia on our peer-to-peer car sharing community in B.C.

In addition to the Passenger Vehicle Rental Tax (PVRT) levied on Turo trips, Turo hosts pay PST on the purchase of their vehicles, while traditional rental car companies do not. Companies like Enterprise Rent-A-Car enjoy a massive tax loophole in B.C., while Turo hosts are taxed twice. This is unfair to our Turo community members and it’s unfair for citizens across the province.

We’re working hard to educate the Government about the benefits of peer-to-peer car sharing and urge them to reconsider this unfair tax policy — but we need your help!

Community stories from people like you have been crucial in our efforts to impact policy across the globe. Please share your unique story with members of the legislative assembly — it would go a long way in protecting your right to share and book cars without burdensome taxes.
